Nature art in an impressionist painterly style featuring a beautiful painted lady butterfly feeding on white joe pye weed wildflowers on a warm summer day in Oklahoma. This species, also known as the Cosmopolitan is the most widespread of all butterflies in North America and I personally think it is also one of the prettiest with the abstract checkered and spotted patterns on the colorful orange and black wings.
