Description
This funny pink puff ball flower and bud belong to the catclaw, otherwise known as pink mimosa or sensitive briar plant. This plant that is related to the larger mimosa trees, has leaves with many segments that are very sensitive and fold up when touched. The vine like branches have sticker thorns like cats claws and the seeds come on in long segmented pods that are covered in a fuzzy coating and stick to your clothes or an animals fur to get distributed far and wide. We also call them stick tights around here. They grow like weeds but have the cutest little flowers and it is hard not to love them.
I created this digital painting from my own photograph. Thank you for viewing my work and to my buyers a huge thank you for supporting an independent artist.
