Description
Well, it is mid October in my part of Oklahoma and the leaves on the trees here have not yet turned. We do have four seasons here, sometimes five if you count Indian summer, but trying to pin down a time for fall colors and first frost is like pinning the tail on a wild donkey. So I am having to cheat and post autumn scenes from days gone by. This scene is from the fall of 2011, the year I think of as "the year of the autumn blaze". It was one of those perfect years when all the trees were trying to outdo each other and the wind didn't come and blow the leaves all away before the show was over. The Cottonwood trees around here do a fair job of mimicking Aspen so that I don't really miss the colors of my childhood growing up in Colorado.
