Description
My neighbors out in the country of rural Oklahoma have this "pot tree" in thier yard next to the garden. I have long wondered what the symbolism might mean to hang old rusty cooking pots from a dead tree trunk by your garden. Like maybe it is some charm to make the food grow an abundant harvest? I researched it and found that in South America, hanging pots from a tree means you have a marriageable girl living in the home. Since these older people had no children that were not already married I think that it is safe to say that in the back woods of Oklahoma it means red neck hillbillies live here.
A photo of an old dead cedar tree trunk with rusty cook pots hanging on it and an abundance of live cedars in the background surrounded by the famous red dirt of Oklahoma.
