Spring in Oklahoma is every bit of a big deal as autumn is when it comes to seeing the colors. I feel blessed to live in a place that is so beautiful and has two seasons of the year when the colors really show off. This is a small patch of wild woods on our 10 acres of land in central Oklahoma and in the spring there is an unspoken race between the wild sand plum bushes and the redbud trees to see who can bloom first. Both of these species put on lovely blossoms before they leaf out and the contrast between the magenta of the redbuds and the white of the plums against the fresh shades of green of all the other trees is quite a sight to see!
