Description
My fascination with plants and wildflowers is not limited to only the large and showy varieties but I also have a love for the funky and strange ones even if their flowers are so small as to go unnoticed by most. This silly little plant with very tiny pink trumpet flowers is a Collomia or wild phlox and is a creeping ground cover plant that grows easily in open fields and pastures. It has several common names like "Pink creeper" "tiny trumpets" and "Pin cushion weed". I made this digital oil painting from my own original photograph.
