A brand new red admiral butterfly has just emerged from the chrysalis and landed on an eastern red cedar tree to spread his wings to dry and assemble his mouth parts before he flies away to find his first meal of flower nectar and pollinate as he goes. This is a common showy species of central Oklahoma and a joy to catch a glimpse of in summer.
