Artist's Description
This is a macro photo I took of some cute and fuzzy rock elm tree flowers which are some of the first signs of life in the springtime here in Oklahoma. I love how the little dead looking buds all of a sudden swell up all fat and burst open to reveal the comical little fuzzy fronds and black tips of the stamens. Possibly one of the weirdest looking flowers in the area and like many other trees around here they bloom before putting on leaves. We have several of these giant trees on our land and they are definitely among my favorite varieties! I added a canvas treatment to give it an art photo vibe.
